Babbacombe Downs falls in a conservation area of outstanding beauty and makes up a part of The English Riviera.
The stunning sea views, from Britain’s highest promenade, stretch right through to the Dorset coast line.
Direct access to Oddicombe beach can be gained via the funicular railway or, if you’re feeling energetic, a steep walk. At Oddicombe beach you will find one of the many vibrant café bars. Walk along the beach, towards Babbacombe beach, and discover a charming sea side pub restaurant. You may even be lucky enough to sea dolphins or seals in the bay.
Walk up from here to find the Babbacombe theatre and a further selection of pubs, tea rooms and restaurants to suit all budgets and tastes.
Head back inland to Babbacombe village to discover the famous Bygones and Babbacombe Model Village, both within easy walking distance of Seabreeze. You will also find two great fish and chip shops, go on, you know you want to.
Venture a little further into charming St. Marychurch, with its array of independent shops and cafes.
We are situated on the famous South West Coast path, with it’s many spectacular views and tucked away pubs.
Head Torquay way and discover the amazing Kents Cavern, a spectacular set of caves with a fascinating history.
Torquay is only a short bus ride away or why not walk the 3 miles into the centre of this lovely sea side resort. Here you can shop, walk in the open parks, or take the short ferry trip to Brixham.
Steam enthusiasts can also travel on the Dartmouth Steam Railway, running for 6.5 miles along the old Great Western route from Paignton to Dartmouth.
Don’t forget that we are a short trip away from the Dartmoor National Park, with it’s stunning walks and cosy country pubs, so we really do have something for everyone.
